Welcome Seasoned Readers!

The Seasoned Reader, formerly 55 Plus News, thanks you for visiting our web site. Since 1997, we have been educating, informing and entertaining central Oklahoma's seniors with our free monthly publication. Why the name change? With so many readers under 55, we decided we really weren't 55 Plus News, but information for "seasoned" readers.

Who is a "seasoned reader" you ask. Well, we think anyone who enjoys all or part of our publication is a seasoned reader. We talk to readers all the time in their 30's and 40's who read Growing Great Gardens, Financial Advisor, You Be the Chef or Pet World. Several of our monthly features, Retire Smart, Social Security Update and Savvy Senior are written for retired (or soon to be retired) readers. We hope, however, there is something in the paper for everyone.

As the new owners, we have one goal: to continue to make our publication the source for "seasoned" information and entertainment. Readers have assisted us in determining the types of information they would like to see, and we have listened. Our goal is to include as much local information as possible, so we have sought out local professionals to provide the majority of our content.

Our mission is "to provide an easy to read, entertaining and informative monthly publication for the seasoned population in Oklahoma." The team involved in the Seasoned Reader, above all else, understands not only the impact of the seasoned population today, but also the challenges.
